A COASTAL LIFESTYLE BLOG

Weekend Notes from New York City

It’s the weekend, and I’m in New York City with Shaun—one of my favorite places to be. I just adore this city. The energy is contagious and completely fills my cup.

Here’s a little roundup of what I’ve recently purchased, what’s sitting in my cart, and a few interesting reads I’ve come across:

– Garden Goals: My roses are seriously showing off right now—they’re in full bloom! If I want to keep the momentum going, I need to get out there and deadhead. If you’re in the same boat, [this article] is a great guide.

Best Coffee Table Find: I still can’t get over this coffee table. It looks almost , ok I’m pretty sure it the exact same table, identical to one I saw for thousands—and it’s under $400. Needless to say, it’s now mine.

Crowd-Pleasing Salad: I made this antipasto salad over Memorial Day weekend, and it was a total hit. Most guests went back for seconds!

Next Read: This is my next book—by the same author who wrote The Perfect Couple. Can’t wait to dive in.

– City Style: I bought this slouchy trench for the trip, and it’s the perfect coat for summer showers in the city. Lightweight, effortless, and chic.

Have a great weekend friends!

Good morning friends! I have taken a little pause in my interior home projects to focus on the garden.
I  planted thirteen rose bushes in all shade of pink and loads of purple saliva and my sweet peas I started from seed are finally in the ground.
I am also in the process of painting all my outdoor furniture bright white. Boy has it made a huge difference! Had the back patio power washed and I cleaned all the cushions and added new throw pillows in navy! Is your yard summer ready?
Below are a few helpful articles, I read this week, and finds that caught my eye.

- I planted Delphiniums this week as well this article was most helpful.

-I do not have a place for this adorable nightstand but maybe you do!

-I am a total candle snob but I am loving this affordable candle

-It is tick season! The more you know the safer you can keep yourself and loved ones. Read this for all the facts.

I started my seed in this helpful little "greenhouse" cabinet

These pants are just way too cute and the perfect for a day by the sea.

-My citrus trees look terrible. I now have a plan to help them. This article is very specific to growing citrus on the coast but I found this article which is more is general.
