Well, here we are the weekend is over it's Monday....boo.
Above is a look I have been wanting to share with you for a whole day. I bought the bag yesterday while out shopping but before I get to the detail of my outfit I wanted to share my recent read. Z ~ A novel of Zelda Fitzgerald by Therese Anne Fowler.
Let me start off by saying A. I am a reader not really a writer therefore B. I am not a book critic. I am just going to share a few thoughts and weather or not I would recommend the book.
To sum it up, the story of Z, told in Zelda Fitzgerald's voice, is an account of her life in the south, meeting and falling in love with her husband, living in New York, France, St. Paul, and their very turbulent marriage riddled with alcoholism, jealousy, mental health issues, passion, competition and I would say...love.
The 1920's was such a dynamic period for literature, art and culture, and in this novel you live it all through the eyes of the "first flapper," Mrs. F. Scott Fitzgerald. My take away from the novel is an appreciation for my rights and the choices I can now make 95 years after Zelda's time. I believe she was a women born much to soon. She was a artist, writer, and classical trained ballet dancer, and could not live up to her full potential due to societies ideas of a women role and place in a marriage.
Would I recommend this book? Yes. It is a novel but the author did her homework and I feel I gained some insight to one of the most famous couple in the literary world. And I would like to mention I had no idea Hemingway was so involved with their lives! What a jerk. Just read it and you will see.
Now on to my outfit: I am so happy I bought this dress from Chicwish. I was pleasantly surprised how versatile it ended up being. I have worn it both day, as seen here, and evening. The shoes I purchased at the Nordstrom Anniversary sale which sadly ended last night:( The bag I had my eye on for some months now, and I got it on sale!
